I don't know if there is a measurable amount large enough to describe how much I LOVE shooting engagement sessions. For most couples, the first time they will be having professional photos taken are on their wedding day itself. Wouldn't it be nice to have a low-key, anything goes practice round, though? I love engagement sessions because it gives me the opportunity to really talk to my couples one on one and get to know them on a more personal level before I capture one of the most important days of their lives. They also get to learn my queues, and get the first real taste of my personality (I'm relatively hopeful this is a good thing). Not to mention, the opportunity to be spontaneous is one of my favorite things about shooting engagement sessions with my couples, and these two did not disappoint! Erin and Chris ran all over Goddard Park with me, delving deep into the woods and wading into the water (which was surprisingly not chilly for April!) The best part of this session is that it felt authentic and true to themselves and their relationship. They weren't afraid to crack jokes, make each other (and me) laugh, and actually lose themselves in the moment during certain shots. I'm so glad Erin and Chris decided to do this shoot, and I cannot wait to shoot their wedding this November! :)
